illvibe had the idea of doing a duet. He had never done one before and we figured no time like the present. By then he had been practicing his singing a lot more and was getting good. I had the honor of writing this along side him and Devan Glover. She’s so talented.
We came up with this sweet concept of slowing down time, being present and really truly focused on your lover. We wrote and recorded this in the old Heavy Aux studio in the top floor of the Rehearsal Factory. Jenna Nation really added a fuzzy warm 90’s feel to the record. I love the way it turned out.
I think my favorite line is: “I wasn’t ready, came out of nowhere/ Minding my business/ I’m bout my business/ Now you my business.” It reminds me of something Jay-z might say.
